What will my student be doing?

The Khan Academy (khanacademy.org) delivers focused lessons to students via short video tutorials stored on their website. Each video is accompanied by interactive practice problems, which allows the student to practice the concepts learned until mastered. Math coaches are on hand to help students work through any concept the student struggles with.

To become more consistent in math, students will gain an understanding of the most common sources of error - definitions, symbol manipulation, and visualization, and how to avoid them.

Students grouped by both age and ability level will solve problems in teams and work on math fundamentals and math facts during the lunch break each day.

Free Summer Math Program

Helping students build a solid foundation for future learning

As we all know, knowledge of mathematics is essential in today’s world. Proficiency in math comes from the sequential mastery of the fundamentals. Many students need additional support and practice in math. This student-centered math program, a community based supplemental approach to mathematics, will help students with knowledge gaps gain a better understanding of math.

  • The program will provide additional resources that teach students how to learn.
  • Every student will learn at his/her own pace, one concept at a time.
  • A FUN and ENGAGING program for students currently in grades 3 - 9.
Mastery of math concepts takes practice on a regular basis over an extended period of time. We realize that it is summer and understand that many students will take time off from the program for family vacations, camps, etc. We ask that you advise us of known plans at the time of registration so that another student can take your student’s place during that period of time.
If you have a computer and internet access, and wish to enroll your child into the program.

If you have further questions contact the Summer Math Message line (English or Spanish) at 425 431– 1125. Your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Thank you for your commitment to supporting your child’s learning and your commitment to their success in math!
